World Violence

World Violence is increasing as time goes by.

On September 11th, 2001 the World Trade Center and the Pentagon of the United States of America were attacked by airplane hijackers.

~Why does God allow the violence?        ~How do we feel about the violence?         ~What are we to think of the violence?     ~ What can we do about our situation?     ~What does God tell those of us who are NOT His children?         ~What does God tell us those of us who ARE His children?         ~What does God tell us about world violence?  What about Tolerance?

How should I be nurtured?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Why does God allow the violence?
  1. God has given us free will.  We have the freedom to act as we choose.  The Bible shows us the Big Picture.  The fact is that evil exists, yet God is Sovereign.
  2. The Lord wants to bring us to repentance so we can be His children.  We are given free will. God does not force us to obey Him. The Lord God IS Holy.  For those who live in opposition to the Lord God Almighty, He chooses to bring them to repentance.  "The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief."  2 Peter 3:9,10        "but they refused to repent of what they had done and glorify him." Rev 9:20,21; 16:9,11. "In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent." Acts 17:30   "Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent."  Rev 3:19.  God's Laws show that we need the Lord.   Everyone who is harmed is being asked by God, "Come to me! The Big Picture shows us why there is evil in the world.
  3. The Lord shows His Mercy.   By His Mercy, the Lord God saved many people's lives from the destruction of the four hijacked flights.  (Neh 9:31)      *The four hijacked flights hit only two of their planned targets.           *The two jets which hit the World Trade Center killed only 10% of the total people who could have been killed.  Each world trade center held 25,000 people. About 5,000 people were missing from the two World Trade Centers crashes.          * The weather was not windy so the fires did not kill more people.   *The plane that crashed into the Pentagon did not hit its intended target.  It did minor damage compared to what might have happened.        *  The passengers heroically intercepted the last plane that landed just outside of Pittsburgh, PA. It landed on a farm field instead of the intended Washington DC target.  No one was killed on that farm, although the passengers died.   We cannot be so proud as to think we deserve favor, but God Almighty chooses to be merciful to us! The  Atonement shows us the Lord God's immense mercy on us and justice as well!
  4. The Lord wants to draw His children closer to His side!! Come to me!
How do we feel about the violence?
Anger is a natural emotion.  If it is overwhelming it may block the truth.
The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.  Proverbs 9:10
We may feel hate against the people who do violence.  Their Sinful actions may cause us to hate what they have done and think about the sins we commit.    God's Laws may show us that we are justified in our feelings.  Violence is wrong and is an offence against God and man.   The Beatitudes show us the attitudes we should hold in our hearts.  You may have Fear of your own Situation. What does God say about:
Fear of Man: Jesus says, "I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.  Luke 12: 4,5
Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, many people saw the miraculous signs he was doing and believed in his name. But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all men. He did not need man's testimony about man, for he knew what was in a man. John 2:23-25
The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? Jer 17:9
For with much wisdom comes much sorrow; the more knowledge, the more grief. Ecc 1:18; 7:3
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Matt 5:4
Jesus feels with us.  In sorrow he spoke: "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death," he said to them. Mark 14:34; Matt 26:37,38; Luke 22:37-45
What are we to think of the violence?
God's Laws show that violence is Wrong.
When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers. Prov 12:15
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.  Rom 12:21
What can we do about our situation?
Where will you be when you die? (HeavenHell ) You and I are to decide if we are God's child or not.  --Are you a good person because of what you do?   Or are you entering the presence of the Almighty and Holy God only through the atoning blood of the Lord Jesus Christ?    God's Laws show us if we are God's children. Do we lead a Sinful Life or a Righteous one?   Does the  Roman Road or  Where are you going? help you to decide if you are God's child or not?  The Lord God wants you to have Salvation, Bible Salvation.  He wants to create a pure heart in you> Psalm 51
A Tree Is Known by Its Fruit:   "For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. For every tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. Luke 6: 43-45 NKJV
Jesus says that defilement comes from within:
"These people draw near to Me with their mouth,   And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me.  And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men."'        When He had called the multitude to Himself, He said to them, "Hear and understand: Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man." ...  So Jesus said, "Are you also still without understanding? Do you not yet understand that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and is eliminated? But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. These are the things which defile a man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man."  "All these evil things come from within and defile a man."  Matt 15:1-20, Mark 7:1-23 NKJV ;  Isa 29:13
God tell us who are NOT His children?
The Lord God made you and He desires for you to want to be His child. God wants you to Come to Him
He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.  Prov 28:13
"But woe to you who are rich, For you have received your consolation.
Woe to you who are full, For you shall hunger. Woe to you who laugh now,
For you shall mourn and weep. Woe to you when all men speak well of you,
For so did their fathers to the false prophets."  Luke 6:24-26 NKJV
`Even now,` declares the LORD, `return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.` Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity. Joel 2: 12,13
Good and upright is the LORD; Therefore He teaches sinners in the way. Psalm 25:8 NKJV   Read the rest of Psalm 25 for deeper understanding.
The Choice of Life or Death:     "For this commandment which I command you today is not too mysterious for you, nor is it far off. ...But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it. "See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, in that I command you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the LORD your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess. But if your heart turns away so that you do not hear, and are drawn away, and worship other gods and serve them, I announce to you today that you shall surely perish; you shall not prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to go in and possess. I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the LORD your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them." Deut 30:11-20 NKJV
The Blessing of Returning to God:    "Now it shall come to pass, when all these things come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you call them to mind among all the nations where the LORD your God drives you, and you return to the LORD your God and obey His voice, according to all that I command you today, you and your children, with all your heart and with all your soul, that the LORD your God will bring you back from captivity, and have compassion on you, and gather you again from all the nations where the LORD your God has scattered you. If any of you are driven out to the farthest parts under heaven, from there the LORD your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you. Then the LORD your God will bring you to the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it. He will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers. And the LORD your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live. Also the LORD your God will put all these curses on your enemies and on those who hate you, who persecuted you. And you will again obey the voice of the LORD and do all His commandments which I command you today. The LORD your God will make you abound in all the work of your hand, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your land for good. For the LORD will again rejoice over you for good as He rejoiced over your fathers, if you obey the voice of the LORD your God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which are written in this Book of the Law, and if you turn to the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Deut 30:1-10  NKJV Hosea 14:1,2
