Acceptance:Being acceptable, worthy, or approved, regarded as true and valued. Example: Christ was the acceptable sacrifice for my sins. I accept God's free gift of salvation. Because of this, I am acceptable to God and now may have a close relationship with Him.
Acknowledge: To understand, know, admit, recognize, and affirm.
Adultery: Voluntary sexual intercourse between a married man or woman with another person who is not their spouse. Example: Adultery breaks the seventh commandment.
Against: To be in opposition to, contrary to.
All in Hebrew means: All, any, and every. Altogether, howsoever as many as, whatsoever, the whole.
Apologize: To regret a wrong and acknowledge your responsibility for it. To say you are sorry with an honest, sincere and full heart for what you did wrong. Example: I apologized to the Lord for ignoring him these past years.
Atonement: Retribution made for an error committed by one person upon another entity for the purpose of restoring peace between both parties. The death of the unblemished lamb of God, Jesus Christ on the cross, was to pay for the debt of our sin that we owe, but are unable to pay. This payment restores a relationship of peace, love and unity between God and those who are redeemed by this Atonement. See Atonement.
Attitude: The mental, physical or emotional mindset which is the reason for doing what you do. A manner of acting, feeling or thinking that shows one's opinion about something. A motive. Example: My attitude has been selfish, until I realized how lonely I have been. When I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior, my attitude changed to be much more loving and selfless.
Before me: To be in the forefront of my mind and feelings. In front of who I see my self as, what I think of often.
Behold: To hold in view, to look and see, regard and consider.
Blameless: To be without fault, pure, perfect.
Bloodshed: To murder or causing someone's blood to be spilled.
Blot out: To rub out, or wipe away, erase, obliterate, remove, make not existing any more.
Broken bones: To feeling anguish, with a contrite heart.
Broken in Hebrew means: Bursting, broken in pieces, crushed, hurt.
Broken Relationship: A separation from a friend or family member with whom you were once connected. Example: I had a relationship with God when I was younger, but then I chose to not confide in Him and did not seek His counsel. My thoughts, actions and attitudes caused our broken relationship.
Burnt offering: The sacrifice of an animal by being burned to ashes in order to make it an irrevocable gift and to give it spiritual form as prayers to God.
Cast: To throw, toss
Cleanse: To clean spiritually, mentally, emotionally...
Close in Hebrew means: To be near, at hand. Not far, but within reach, very close.
Contrite or crushed in Hebrew means: Crushed to a powder, destruction.
Conversion: To turn toward or away from something. It is a change of heart of mind which enables one to receive the grace of God in salvation. A complete turning away from sin and a trustful surrender to Y'eshua or Jesus Christ as Lord.
Covet: To desire or wish for something greatly that belongs to another, being envious. Example: If covet, then I do not accept God's will for my life, but wish for something that He knows is not in my favor, so I am not trusting the Lord more than my pride.
Create: To "make completely new, and sustain". This is the same word used by God in the account of when He created the world in Genesis 1:1.
Deliver: To set free or save from danger or evil. In Hebrew it means: Escape without fail, save, rescue, surely take out, pluck, and defend.
Faith: Faith is believing in something that you do not see. It is a gift from God, not earned by ourselves. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 (see Faith)
False Testimony: Lying, not telling the full and total truth. To lie and give a false impression of something or someone, trying to trick, fool or deceive yourself or another. Example: Lying breaks the ninth Commandment.
Fan: Fanatic : A person enthusiastic about a specific sport, pastime or performer. I was really thrilled every time I heard about my favorite rock star. But now that I have received Jesus, I know who is my rock and I will always follow Him, my star.
Fear of the Lord: Fear of the Lord shows recognition that God is Sovereign, All-powerful and has Complete Authority over all things, seen and unseen. When you realize this truth, then the fear that it generates is the beginning of Wisdom. You will think and act in the awareness of the power and significance of God in your own personal life. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do His commandments: His praise endureth for ever. Psalm 111:10
Forgive: To give up the claim to punish for a wrong committed. To stop being angry with, to pardon, to cancel a debt, to forget the wrong made. No longer remembering or responding to another's wrong. Ex: I owe my life to Jesus for paying the price of my sins on the cross so God would forgive me for all the wrongs that I have done.
Fornication - Voluntary sexual relations in any way other than between a man and a woman within marriage. Any unlawful sexual intercourse including adultery, homosexuality, and worship of idols. The attitude of each marriage partner in the sexual union is important to God, also. See idolize, perverted, violence.
Friend: A person whom one knows well and likes. Someone who is compassionate and sympathetic to you, helpful, reliable and kind. One with whom you enjoy their companionship and relationship. Example: Jesus is my best friend.
From in Hebrew means: Out and away.
God: one of His Names is Elohiym (pronounced el-o-heem): This is the plural form of God, referring to the Trinity. The Trinity is made up of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Elohiym means the Supreme God, the mighty and powerful God Who is Judge. He is the One to Whom we are accountable for all of our thoughts, words, and actions. (See Who is God)
Guilt: The state of having done wrong; The painful feeling of knowing you have done wrong and are separated from God.
Heart: in Hebrew means the center of your being. Your feelings, will, and intellect. The center, the core of your being.
Hyssop: A plant in the mint family which has hairy stiff branches and stiff hairy leaves that is well able to sprinkle any liquid that is put on them. During Passover, hyssop was used as a way of applying the sacrificial blood of the lamb for the removing of sin. (Ex.12:22, Heb 9:22)
Idol - an image or phantom, an image of a god used as an object or instrument of worship. Any object of ardent or excessive devotion or adoration. Any person, any image, any habit, or any thing which a person depends on more than the Lord God Almighty to bring pleasure and identity confirmation. A false notion or idea that causes errors in thinking or reasoning. An idea, person, or point of fixation that a person idolizes. Sexual activity can be an idol: the body, pictures or images, passion, feelings, or emotions that are used for the goal of self-satisfaction. Drugs and Alcohol can be an idol. See Commandment II.
Idolater - a person who worships an idol or idols. A devoted admirer or adorer, as with someone who reveres a singer, movie star, pornographic magazine, etc. Any person who has an Idol. See Commandment II.
Idolatry - Worship of idols. Idolatry is depending on any person, any image, any habit, or any thing more than you depend upon the Lord God Almighty to bring you pleasure and identity confirmation. Excessive devotion to or reverence for some person, idea, or physical object. Anything attention paid to something that is other than God. God commands each person to seek Him first and only for intimacy in friendship.
Immoral: Not in conforming to the acceptable standards set by God. The opposite of Moral. Example: I could only be immoral before the Holy Spirit indwelled in me.
Indwell: To live inside something or someone. To take up residence. Example: My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit since I invited Jesus into my life and the Holy Spirit indwells in me.
Iniquity: Wickedness, vanity, pride, perverseness, depravity, crooked, lawlessness, sin. Sin is doing wrong thinking, speaking, actions, emotions, or not doing the right thinking, speaking, actions, or emotions. Iniquity is doing morally objectionable behavior, evil, immorality, wickedness, injustice or unfairness based upon God's standards. Sin is what separates you from the Holy God.
Inward parts: The inside of me, meaning my heart, soul, mind and emotions. These are also the hidden parts.
Just: True, lawful, rightful, proper, fair, deserved, merited, accurate, exact, correct.
The LORD: In Hebrew means the Eternal, Jehovah, the self-existent One. The One with no beginning and no end. "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "Who is, and Who was, and Who is to come, the Almighty." Rev 1:8; 21:6; 22:13.
Loving Kindness: Mercy, goodness and steadfast love, which shows an attitude of loyalty and faithfulness, especially to his creatures of sin, unmerited kindness.
Many in Hebrew means: Abundant in quantity, size and quality. Exceedingly full, great, manifold, mighty, plenteous.
Make me to know: Teach me, show me reveal to me.
Mercy: Pity, tender hearted compassion."Therefore know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments;" Deut 7:9 NKJV
Murder: The premeditated killing of one human being by a person. To take a life that only God can give, like abortion. Ex: Murder breaks the sixth Commandment.
Personal: Pertaining to your own self, you as a person. What you are and have done. Your thoughts, actions, feelings... yourself.
Perverse - deviating from what is considered right or good. Doing what is wrong, corrupt, or wicked. Persisting in error or fault. Being stubbornly contrary, obstinately disobedient or difficult, intractable. See God's Laws.
Perversion - the act of being perverse. Sexual perversion is to distort what God deems true to be untrue. God made men and women to fit together in a natural way. Sexual perversion is when men come together with men, or women come together with women, or with animals, objects, images on picture, etc. In all cases, each person will be always be emotionally, physically and spiritually unsatisfied, for their bodies and souls are going in the opposite direction of God's design and intent.
Pervert - to cause to turn from what is considered right, good or true misdirect, lead astray, corrupt. To turn to an improper use, misuse. To bring into a worse condition, debase. See perversion or perverted.
Perverted - deviating from what is considered right, good or true. Being misdirected, distorted or corrupted. As of practicing sexual perversion. for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious; for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for adulterers and perverts, for slave traders and liars and perjurers--and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine that conforms to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me. 1Tim 1:9-11
Pride: Proud Hearted : An exaggeratedly high opinion of oneself, conceit, large ego, arrogant and centered around oneself, not God. Ex: We were all once proud because we did not have Jesus on the throne of our hearts.
Pure: To be bright, clean, unadulterated, uncontaminated, fully innocent, holy, and moral.
Purge: To make pure and clean without impurities and guilt.
Redeemed: To be made clean through the payment of our sins by Jesus Christ on the cross.
Relationship: The quality or state of being related, connected or attached to someone, such as family or friend. Example: My relationship with God Almighty was restored when I willfully accepted His friendship on His terms.
Responsible: Expected or obligated to perform in a certain manner and answerable and accountable to a higher authority. Ex: I am the only one responsible for my own attitudes, motives and actions, which God holds into account.
Righteous in Hebrew means: Just, lawful in the sight of God, holy and true.
Repent: To feel sorry or self-reproachful for what you have done or failed to do; to be conscience-stricken or contrite. To feel such regret or dissatisfaction over some past action, intention, word, thought, deed, or attitude, so as to change your mind about it, and change your direction and ways of being. Bring me to Repent.
Restore: To give back, repair and rebuild back to strength and health. To bring back into being, health, or renewal through some process or correction. Example: My relationship with God was restored when I apologized for my immorality.
Sacrifice: A gift, present, or offering to God for the purpose of atonement, love and honor to the Lord Almighty. (Hebrews 6:13-11:2; Romans 12:1,2; Hebrews 13:15,16)
Salvation: Being saved from deserved destruction by God's work of bringing someone from the state of sin to the state of righteousness. God's salvation means freedom from what binds or restricts, to liberate, deliver and make prosperous. See Salvation
Saint: A person who has been saved by Jesus Christ's redeeming Blood on the cross and given their life to Him. The Bible refers 98 times to "saints" as being people living on this earth. Psalm 16:3 The apostle Paul wrote letters to the saints and gave greetings from the saints with him. To become a saint see Atonement and Sinner's Prayer
Saves in Hebrew means: To be opened wide and free. To be safe while you are being avenged, defended, delivered, and persevered in your rescue. The LORD always gets victory.
Savior: A person who saves you from something. Ex: Jesus Christ saves those who trust Him to keep them from evil and hell.
Sexual Immorality- is fornication.
Spirit in Hebrew means: Wind, by resemblance breath, life. As to the mind, spirit, wind - your soul.
Temptation: An enticement, persuasion or invitation to sin, with the perceived promise of benefit to be gained from choosing the path of disobedience to God. Example: I was tempted to do wrong, until I thought about the Word of God and regained strength from Jesus.
Terms: A condition of a contract or agreement. Ex: The terms of the Lord God Almighty are firm, exacting and unchanging.
Thy, Thou,Thine: Means "you" or Your. Taken from the King James Version Translation
Troubles in Hebrew means: Afflictions, bad, evil, adversity, calamity, distress, exceedingly great grief, heavy harm or hurt, sorrow.
Uphold: To hold up, lift, support from falling.
Violate - to break a rule, law promise, fail to keep or observe. To Infringe upon. To commit a sexual assault on, to rape. To desecrate or profane something sacred. To offend, insult outrage.
Violence - physical force used so as to inure, damage, or destroy. Extreme roughness of actions. Intense often devastating or explosively powerful force or energy. Unjust or callous use of force or power, as in violating another's rights sensibilities. The harm done by this. Great force or strength of feeling, conduct or expression. Vehemence fury. A twisting or wrenching of a sense, phrase so as to distort the original or true sense or form. Being violent.
Violent - acting with or characterized by great physical force so as to injure, damage, or destroy. Acting or characterized by force unlawfully or call9ously used. Caused by violence. Showing or resulting from strong feeling or emotion, vehement, furious. Emotionally disturbed to an uncontrollable degree. Extreme intense very strong. Tending to distort the meaning.
Will: A) The reasoned choice or decision and controlling power of propelling one's actions. Ex: My will was strong to not obey God's choices for my life. B) A particular desire, purpose, pleasure or choice of a person or entity. Ex: I now first ask God for His will for my life, and I bend my will to His.
Wisdom: Wisdom is knowledge from God, understanding from God's perspective. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. James 3:17
Allah = moon god of the tribe that Mohammed worshipped .
