Not Believe

There are many Reasons not to Believe.

ANGER            HYPOCRITES             MONEY        RELIGION

WORLD VIOLENCE        Belief is a Gift

I think God might be angry with me:

God always reaches out to people who have been out of his friendship with Him.  Here are some examples :

1)        In Genesis 4:3-7NIV, we are told of two brothers, Cain and Abel.  "In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the Lord.  But  Abel brought fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock.  The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering, but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor.  So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.  Then the Lord said to Cain, "Why are you angry?  Why is your face downcast?  If you do what is right, will you not be accepted?  But if you do not do what is right,  sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it."  Here we see God compassionately coming right along side of Cain and talking with him about his anger and sorrow.  God even advises Cain on how to be happy.  "Do what is right and you will be accepted."

2)        In Jonah 1:1-2, 3:3-5,10 God sends His prophet Jonah to warn an entire city that if they do not turn away from their wrongdoing they will suffer The word of the Lord came to Jonah, son of Amittai:  "'Go to the city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me." ... Jonah obeyed the word of the Lord and went to Nineveh.  Now Nineveh was a very important city -- a visit required three days.  On the first day, Jonah started into the city.  He proclaimed:  "Forty more days and Nineveh will be overturned."  The Ninevites believed God.  They declared a fast, and all of them, from the greatest to the least, put on sackcloth....God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, he had compassion and did not bring upon them the destruction he had threatened.

3)        Jesus came for the sole purpose of reaching out to those who were away from God.

Jesus answered them,  "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.  For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."  Luke 5:31

When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd.  So he began teaching them many things.  Mark 6:34

Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.  And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.  The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off -- for all whom the Lord our God will call."  Acts 2:38-39

HYPOCRITES

Yes, I agree!!  Those people are a bunch of hypocrites!!  Those people say that they are saved.  They talk about God's love, and then look what they do!!  They do things wrong just like you and I do.  Some of them do a lot less and some I think are worse!!  It's ridiculous!!

And let me introduce myself, I am a hypocrite.  Let me shake your hand, I am a sinner.  Yes, if you look at my life, you will see things that I do wrong that will make you wonder and shake your head.  Some of the things that I have done I wasn't even aware that I was doing!!  Isn't that amazing!!  I thought I was just fine, and then the Lord revealed to me in my spirit, and whoa!! ouch!!  I didn't know that I was hurting someone else!  I didn't know that I was.....  "Lord, help me to stop it please!?  Change my mind and heart so that I stop",  I asked the Holy God.  -- And He did!

And that is the difference between those who have a relationship with the Living and Saving Lord, and those who do not.  Just imagine what they were like before they had a relationship with God!!  I am grateful that Jesus Christ came into my heart and saved my life over twenty years ago.  I know where I would have been if it weren't for Him and those He put into my life to help me and pray for me.   I know I can never go back because He rescued me from my self and my own willfulness.

My Father in Heaven is continually changing me, as well.  The changes He has done in me in the past one year astonish me, and I am considered to be a mature Christian.  The reason for these changes is because I am a child of God.  Not an adult of God, but His child.  And for as long as I remain on His good earth, I will remain His child.  His gift to me is His Peace and Joy that does not depend on my circumstances.  His confirming in my soul that I am loved without condition, and helped in my life daily by Him fill my heart and mind with tremendous contentment.

After I go to Heaven, I will still be His child, only I won't have any pain, suffering or crying like I do now as He shapes and molds me into His image.  He is continually renewing my mind to be like the mind of Christ, too.  That is why I read the Bible.  And what a blessing His Words are to me!!  I pray that you choose to receive Him into your heart and have His great Joy, Peace and Loving Care as well!

P.S.  If you keep looking to people, you'll never see God.  If you want to see God, you'll have to look up.  You'll have to look at Him, read His words.  And Seek Him with an open heart.        Bring me to Who is God.

 MONEY

Jesus said to him..."For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'"  Mathew 4:10

Jesus looked at him and loved him.  "One thing you lack," he said. "Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heavenThen come, follow me."  Mark 10:21

"No one can serve two masters.  Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other.  You cannot serve both God and Money."  Matthew 6:24

"Now fear the Lord and serve Him with all faithfulness.  Throw away the gods your forefathers worshipped beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord.  But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods of your forefathers served beyond the Rover, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living.  But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord."  Joshua 2-4

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body....For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.  But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow..."  Matthew 6:25,32-34

RELIGION

What about the religion I grew up with, or the religions that I know of already?  Why or how are they any different than what this website is about? Aren't these religions the same thing??   Some of them profess to believe one god, and some even say they believe Jesus too!!

And I was even in some of these churches!!  I didn't sense anything more special or different in them than in any other place else.  In fact, sometimes I was discouraged by them!!

The answer is:  This is about having a relationship with the Eternal Living, Almighty, Loving and All-powerful God, not about a list of things that you must do or not do in order to get to heaven.  (Not of works, lest any man should boast.  Ephesians 2:9)  When you meet Jesus Christ, in the private of your heart, then you will understand.  ("Here I am!  I stand at the door and knock.  If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me." says Jesus Revelation 3:20)

It is about relationship.  A relationship only between you and God.  No one else and nothing else.  It is only about you and God.  God is extending His hand out to you now.  He wants you to accept Him.  He has prepared you and cared for you all these years, and He wants you to reach out and take hold of His hand.   Now this calls for courage, guts.  Only the most courageous are born-again.  But once you take that leap of faith, you are home free because God will provide the success of your growth in Him, as long as you accept and trust His guidance.  The only thing required is a sincere and honest heart.   What a joy!! What a fact!!

The Bible confirms Jesus' support of your friendship with Him:   I have called you friends.  John 15:15

You cannot get to God through your parents, through your friends, through your intellect, or anything or anyone else...  Only through your accepting a relationship of love, friendship, respect, acceptance and trust in the Living Lord Jesus Christ.  Once you accept this relationship, on God's terms only, then your true adventure begins!!  Then the Lord reveals Himself to you only to the amount that you are thirsty for Him.  Only to the amount that you seek Him in all His wisdom, truth and love.  And as you grow in your relationship with Him, you will be able to discern his voice more clearly, and understand more and more what it is that He wants you to do, where you should go, and how you should be.

The Bible confirms Jesus' support of your relationship with Him: Jesus says: "So I say to you:  Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.  Luke 11:9-10   "his sheep follow him because they know his voice...I am the good shepherd."

What about those religions that have other books added to the Bible, like the Koran, the book of Mormon, the Jehovah Witnesses....  The Bible, which they say they believe and support, refutes the very books that they use as guides and supplements.  The Bible says: Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6  , not Mohammad or anyone else.  And "I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever - the Spirit of truth....But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. John 14:16-18 This is referring to the Holy Spirit.  The third person of the triune God.  There are many more differences.  You need only look at our Other Sites of Interest page, or ask Jesus directly as you read, adhere to, and trust His Word, the Bible.

Remember, All of us have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. Romans 3:23, but only the ones who have a living relationship in love and obedience  with the living Lord Jesus Christ can see Heaven.  See Jesus Christ's Power or Righteousness for more encouragement.  May God bless you in your search.
