Psalms

For in thee, O Lord, do I hope. Psalm 38:15 KJV

King David wrote this verse when he was in desperate trouble.  King David states:  Only in You, the Lord God, do I place my hope.  My life is in Your Hands, my heart is in Your Heart.  I can trust no one else.  In You alone is my hope of salvation from all of my troubles.

  1. David knew that his own personal sin had caused God's wrath upon him. "Because the Lord disciplines those He loves, as a father the son he delights in. (Prov 3:11-12) David acknowledges God's hand in his own misery. He states, "Because of Your wrath there is no health in my body".
  2. David also recognizes that, "My guilt has overwhelmed me like a burden too heavy to bear." (Come to me)
  3. David laments that "My friends and companions avoid me" and that "those who would harm me talk of my ruin; all day long they plot deception."
  4. David crumbles stating "For I am about to fall… I confess my iniquity; I am troubled about my sin."
  5. And finally pleads again, trusting that God will save him. "O Lord, do not forsake me…Come quickly to help me, O Lord my Savior."

Application:    Are you like King David?  Do you see your own sin?  Are you repulsed by it?  Will you turned to the one and only Righteous God!

We should be rightfully humbled by The Just and Righteous God. Even though we are in great pain and suffering, we are to put our trust and hope in the Lord.  No one else can save us from emotional or eternal destruction. Science may help and other things, too, but unless the sin and iniquity is removed permanently , we will never be healed in our eternal (lasting beyond time) parts. Only God can forgive and remove sins. (As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:12; Jesus Christ see Mark 2:10).

Is your sin weighing you down?  Are you grieved that your whole world is crumbling? Or are you joyous because you have trusted in the Lord before and know that He is faithful to rescue you again!  Your hope is valid in faith and in the relationship  which you have in Jesus Christ!!

Is your heart a place of devastation, or is it strong and glowing with the Joy of the Lord?  Would you like to be healed?  Would you like eternal hope?  God alone offers us Hope without end. (Romans 5:2,5; 8:24; 15:13; Eph 1:18; John 3:1-3) God is offering it to you right now through His Son Jesus Christ. Would you like to receive Him?  Prayer

Are you moved with great sadness at the loss of God in your heart? Do you long for Him to fill you with His Peace (John 14:27) and Joy (John 15:11) and Love (John 15:9,10).

If you need the Lord, know that it is within God's desire and will for you to ask for Him to be your Lord and Savior. He wants to dwell within you, but you need to invite Him to enter in. Scripture is clear that He calls us (1 Cor 1:9, Gal 5:13; Col 3:15; 2 Thess 2:14; 2 Tim 1:9; 1 John 3:1) and chooses us (John 15:16; 1 Peter 2:9). Won't you pray like David did? Prayer

I have received Jesus!!  Please bring me to What is next!
